Description

Served as an appointed member of the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Economic Development Commission (SEDC), a regional economic development organization established in 1968 and designated as an Economic Development District by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Commission serves twelve counties in southeastern North Carolina and plays a critical role in advancing economic development, infrastructure investment, workforce readiness, community resilience, and regional prosperity through strategic planning, partnerships, and resource development.Collaborated with elected officials, business leaders, educational institutions, workforce development agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to identify regional priorities and support initiatives that strengthen economic competitiveness, job creation, entrepreneurship, infrastructure modernization, and sustainable community development. Participated in governance, policy development, strategic planning, and oversight activities that guide regional economic development efforts and support long-term economic growth throughout the region.Contributed to discussions and decision-making related to federal and state funding opportunities, workforce development strategies, rural economic advancement, public infrastructure projects, community revitalization, educational partnerships, and regional collaboration. Supported initiatives designed to improve quality of life, expand economic opportunities, strengthen organizational capacity, and create pathways for workforce and community development across diverse rural and urban communities.
