Description

Served as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Advancing Indigenous Science and Engineering Society (AISES), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to substantially increasing the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, research, leadership, and careers. AISES serves more than 7,800 members, represents over 500 Indigenous Nations, supports 249 affiliated K–12 schools, and maintains 205 college chapters across North America.As Secretary of the Board of Directors and a member of the Executive Committee, contributed to organizational governance, strategic planning, policy development, board operations, and long-term organizational sustainability. Supported the advancement of initiatives focused on Indigenous student success, workforce development, leadership preparation, educational equity, STEM access, digital inclusion, and community empowerment. Collaborated with board members, staff, Tribal leaders, educators, industry partners, governmental agencies, and community stakeholders to strengthen opportunities for Indigenous learners and professionals.Served as Chair of the PK–12 Education Committee, leading efforts to expand STEM learning opportunities, educational access, student engagement, mentorship, leadership development, and college and career readiness for Indigenous youth. As Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Committee, provided leadership in exploring the responsible use of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, digital literacy, innovation, and future workforce preparation within Indigenous communities and educational settings. As Vice Chair of the Professional Development Committee, supported programs that strengthen leadership capacity, workforce readiness, professional networking, career advancement, and lifelong learning opportunities for Indigenous students and professionals.
