This course introduces the analysis and the design of engineering systems. Concepts, methods, and procedures associated with the engineering design process are studied. Specific topics include project management; customer need identification; team behavior; concept generation and evaluation; embodiment design; modeling and simulation; finite element analysis software; material selection; engineering statistics; and legal and ethical issues in design. Prerequisites: CAAE 332 or MEEN 336 or equivalent. (F;S;SS)
