Introductory statistical methods for biological research including: descriptive statistics, probability distributions (binomial, normal, student's t-distribution), parametric and non-parametric hypothesis tests, confidence intervals, chi- square tests/contigency table analysis, introduction to one- way ANOVA, and bivariate regression. Laboratory excercises will provide the student with experience using statistical software packages for data analysis. Prerequisites: MATH 224 or MATH 231; senior standing. (F;S)
