BIOL 675: Neurology of Aging

Description

This course is a study of the neurobiology of aging across multiple levels including, molecular, cellular, genetic, systemic and behavioral. The course examines the brain structural and functional changes associated with aging and the consequences of these changes on cell signaling, neurophysiology, cognition and nutrition. In addition, healthy cognitive aging is compared to the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Prerequisite: BIOL 305 or BIOL 366 or seek instructor approval.
