This course introduces computational tools for creation and evaluation of design solutions for problems in chemical engineering. Programming skills, data types, operations and graphical representations of design parameters are introduced. The use of numerical engineering tools including matrix manipulations, vectors and algebraic equation systems is discussed. A case study of a chemical process design is examined using contemporary computational tools. Prerequisite: MATH 131 (with a grade C- or higher) or permission of instructor. (F;S;SS)
