This course introduces an emerging discipline that applies advanced computational approaches to concepts in transportation systems such as vehicle flow stream, vehicle continuum flow, connected vehicle technology environment, and traveler behavior, in order to improve safety mobility, and sustainability of the transport system Students will learn how to develop and apply computational approaches to mesoscopic traffic simulations by taking advantage of advanced information and computing technologies
