This course introduces fundamental principles of privacy, ethics, and security that are relevant to ethical assessment in data science and analytics. Students will learn the definition of ethics, privacy and security, data collection and privacy, data privacy and taxonomy and alternative frameworks, privacy-aware access control, anonymity models, privacy policies, and privacy in cloud infrastructure and big data. Students will learn these techniques through real-world case studies to understand complex interactions among data security, privacy, and ethics. Prerequisite: STAT 707 (F;S;SS).
