Dance Ethnography is an introductory course in ethnographic research methods and theory in dance. Emphasis is on the art and science of describing the dances, rituals, art and crafts of a group or culture. Movement analysis, interview techniques, protocol in the field, and the use of media equipment for research are included. A final paper 40 pages in length is required. Prerequisites: None. (S)
