This course covers the theory and application of genetic algorithms. Genetic algorithms combine a Darwinian survival of -the-fittest with a randomized, yet structured information exchange to form an improved search mechanism with surprising robustness. Engineering applications of genetic algorithms for design and control will be presented. Prerequisite: ECEN 410. (S)
