This course is a survey emphasizing the main trends in European development since 1789 including the political and social impact of the French & Industrial Revolutions, nationalism, imperialism, World Wars I & II, the Russian Revolution and Stalin , Nazism, the Cold War and the continuing experiment with the idea of a European Union.
