This course is designed to study the principles and techniques of emergency preparedness, safety, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Lecture and activities also encompass prevention of injuries and safety promotion in the home, school, and community environments, prevention of disease transmission, basic life support skills, and care of the injured or ill patient. Students may earn the American Red Cross certification in First Aid, CPR/AED and Blood-Borne Pathogens. Prerequisite: None. (F;S;SS)
