This course examines advanced topics in human-machine systems. Topics covered include supervisory control, human aspects of fixed and programmable automation, theories and models of complex systems, collaborative work support systems, human attention and cognitive control of dynamic actions, and tele-operations. Applications include supervisory control in transportation, process, space operations, waste and hazardous handling, manufacturing, and other applications of automated systems. Prerequisites: Graduate Standing and Consent of Instructor. (F;S)
