This course provides experience in fieldwork methods of observation, interviewing, discourse analysis, and other research strategies from the ethnographic tradition that has developed in anthropology and sociology over the past century. The course examines the ontological assumptions, theoretical perspectives, and ways of writing that are essential for conducting this type of research.
