This course examines the economic, social, political and cultural forces that shape the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. It explores the reasons for Africa's high prevalance rates, the gendered nature of the pandemic , and the impact of the disease on children. Prerequisites: None. (F;S;SS)
