Description

This course introduces methods of statistical estimation and inference including the following topics: sufficient statistics, confidence sets, hypothesis tests, and maximum likelihood methods. The theory of uniformlymost powerful tests and the Neyman-Pearson Lemma are covered. Other topics include least squares estimation, the linear model, and Bayesian methods. Prerequisite: MATH 623.
