Description

This course covers the basic concepts of patent laws, invention disclosure, innovation protection, and the licensing process. The course teaches students on how inventors and creators are protected by the law from infringement. The course further exposes students to the legal and business aspects of intellectual property and provides the foundation that will help inventors take their products to market. Students will learn about laws and regulations pertaining to patents, trademarks, secrets and copyrights, and will further learn various aspects of the American Invents Act (AIA). Prerequisite: None.
