This course introduces basic statistical principles and includes the following statistical concepts; descriptive statistics, probability, inferential statistics, correlation and linear regression. Emphasis is placed on the use and relevance of statistics to health sciences and a substantial number of human health examples are included to demonstrate the application of statistics to health and disease. Students also will be introduced and expected to use a statistical software program, i.e. SPSS. Prerequisite: MATH 101 or higher. (F;S;SS)
