This course focuses on the identification and development of leadership and management principles within a rapidly changing healthcare environment. Selected concepts, such as quality improvement, change, patient safety, finance and health policy and politics are explored. The course is designed to facilitate the students' self-assement of their leadership and management skills. It includes opportunities for scholarly inquiry and professional communication. A precepted practicum with a nurse leader facilitates the transition to professional nurse. Prerequisite: Enrolled in ABSN Entry Option or Corequisite: NURS 467. (F;S;SS)
