This course examines the application of management principles, policies and practice to carriers in various transportation modes. The provision of competitive services at affordable prices that would add value throughout the supply chain is an important aspect of the course. Major areas examined in the course include carrier-shipper relations with a synopsis of major traffic management functions: and analyses of carrier planning and operations, pricing, marketing, finance and investment decisions, and personnel management.
