Biography
Dr. Monico is a tenured Associate Professor at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (A&T), in the Joint Graduate Social Work Programs of A&T and the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). Dr. Monico is an international expert in addressing institutional and structural barriers and health disparities among minoritized populations through the utilization of community-based and culturally-sensitive approaches, including AI models for social justice. Dr. Monico teaches and engages in research using qualitative methods, community-engaged research, trauma-informed care, child- and family-centered approaches, and has extensive background in the development of local, national and transnational research.
