Biography

Dr. Hallie Trauger earned a M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education in 2015 and Ph.D. in Physics in 2017 from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Her dissertation research was with the Heavy Ion group of the CMS Collaboration, studying the quark gluon plasma that existed in the very early universe and is recreated at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN by colliding lead nuclei accelerated to close to the speed of light. From 2015 - 2024 Dr. Trauger taught high school physics, computer science, and engineering and mentored extracurricular robotics and technology teams. Dr. Trauger joined NC A&T in August 2024 as a Teaching Assistant Professor focused on introductory physics labs and instruction.
