Biography

Dr. Hannah Javidi is an Assistant Professor of Health Psychology at North Carolina A&T State University specializing in adolescent sexual health research and education. Dr. Javidi's education and professional training include dual Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Spanish from UNC Charlotte, a Ph.D. in Applied Social and Community Psychology from NC State University, and a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in Applied Health Science at the Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington.

Since 2018, Dr. Javidi has conducted rigorous applied research focused on understanding and promoting healthy beliefs and behaviors among teens and young adults through community-engaged and digital intervention methods. She developed PACT (Promoting Affirmative Consent among Teens), an evidence-based online program that was effective at improving adolescent sexual consent knowledge, beliefs, and skills in its first trial with over 800 adolescents. Supported by an NIH K99/R00 award, Dr. Javidi is adapting PACT to include condom negotiation skills and tailor content to meet the needs of GBQ+ teen boys.

Dr. Javidi has published nearly 30 peer-reviewed articles as well as a book chapter, and her work on the PACT intervention has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list (2025, Healthcare) and by the Boston Congress of Public Health.
