Biography

Hieu Nguyen is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. Before joining NCAT in 2021, he was a postdoctoral associate at the Center of Energy Economic & Environmental Policies, Rutgers University, New Jersey (2019-2020), at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Utah (2018-2019), and at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University (2017-2018). He received his Ph.D. degree from INRS, the University of Quebec in 2017.

Hieu was the recipient of the PERSWADE fellowship from The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the best paper award from the 2016 IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies. He is also a dedicated reviewer for numerous top-tier journals/conferences in the field of power and energy. He received the best reviewer award from IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid in 2018.
