Biography
I have been a department chair in journalism and mass communication since July 1, 2023, at multiple institutions -- Loyola University Maryland (2023 - 2025) and North Carolina A&T State University (2025 - ongoing). I am a tenured full professor with research interests in community and ethnic media, emerging technologies in communication and storytelling, and media education. I taught a wide range of courses in the journalism and mass communication curriculum, including user experience, web development, digital media capstone, mobile media, data visualization and storytelling, public relations strategies, promotional publication design, diversity and stereotypes in the media, and the social and cultural impacts of emerging media. I was a 2023-24 fellow of the AEJMC-ASJMC's The Institute for Diverse Leadership (IDL).
