Biography
Dr. Micah Crump is a tenure-track associate professor of management and entrepreneurship in the Department of Management at the Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, he holds a PhD and MBA from Morgan State University, and BS degree from Coppin State University. His teaching, research, and publications all center on increasing successful entrepreneurship rates among current and new Black business owners. He is also the Associate Director of the Entrepreneurship Education Institute, a Howard University initiative within the PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship. Dr. Crump served as entrepreneurship trainer and consultant for small business development centers, and faculty advisor to numerous student entrepreneurship organizations and new venture startups. He is a former McNair Scholar, and holds memberships with the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society, the International Golden Key Honour Society, and the Southwestern Society of Economists. He served in the U.S. military, worked at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and ran several businesses, and taught many undergraduate and graduate business and entrepreneurship courses at several HBCUs and PBIs, implementing many innovative new entrepreneurship activities, curriculum, and programs there.
