Biography
Dr. Tyreeka Williams is joining the North Carolina A&T State University faculty after three years of teaching at Concordia University Irvine in Southern California and Montreat College. With a wide range of experience in higher education, private practice, addiction settings, and the K-12 school district, she is passionate about pouring into the future generation of counselors, helping students identify and expound upon their calling into the counseling profession.
Dr. Williams earned a B.S. in psychology from Chowan University, an M.A. in human services counseling from Liberty University, and an M.A. in school counseling from Regent University. She also completed her Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision at North Carolina A&T State University, where she was awarded the Inaugural College of Education Equity, Access, and Advocacy Award. Her research interests include the supervision of novice school counselors, AI in counseling, and trauma-informed care for refugees and immigrants. A skilled communicator, Dr. Williams has been recognized as a Pete Warren Graduate Student Fellow by the Virginia Counselors Association and an Emerging Leader by the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and North Carolina Counseling Association.
