Biography
Dr. Vikesh Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the Department of Accounting and Finance at North Carolina A&T State University. Prior to joining NC A&T, he served as a Lecturer of Finance at Sukkur IBA University in Pakistan, an AACSB-accredited business school. He earned his Ph.D. from the School of Financial Planning at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Kumar’s research focuses on behavioral finance, consumer financial well-being, and the impact of artificial intelligence on financial decision-making. His scholarly work has been published in respected academic journals, and he maintains a robust research pipeline with manuscripts currently under review at top-tier outlets such as the British Accounting Review and the Journal of Consumer Affairs.
A recognized scholar in his field, Dr. Kumar has received the Best Research Paper award from the Academy of Financial Services (AFS 2024), sponsored by the CFP Board, and the Applied Consumer Economics Award from the American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI-2026). In the classroom, he bridges rigorous financial theory with modern industry demands by integrating professional-grade tools, including the Bloomberg Terminal and generative AI simulations, into his instruction. Beyond his research and teaching, he actively contributes to the academic community as an ad hoc reviewer for several journals and serves in various faculty mentorship and advisory roles
