Biography

Dr. Lu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Engineering Technology at North Carolina A&T State University (NC A&T). He has over fifteen years of experience in all kinds of materials for energy conversion and storage applications. Prior to joining NCAT, he was a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and working on all types of batteries (e.g., Li-ion, Na-ion, and Na metal batteries), fuel cells (e.g., solid oxide fuel cells, proton-exchange membrane fuel cells, etc.), supercapacitors, magnetic materials, etc. Dr. Lu is an author or co-author of over 60 papers in peer-reviewed professional journals. And a few of his papers have been published in high impact journals such as Chemical Review, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Energy & Environmental Science. He has also published 2 book chapters and 10 U.S. patents (4 granted).
