Abstract

Without a doubt, the World Wide Web (WWW) has already altered the way we share knowledge. The exploitation of the web is one of the biggest challenges in the area of intelligent information management. The Semantic Web was presented to ease this situation by taking the WWW much further. It aims to develop the web into a distributed global system for knowledge representation and computing. Such a system is built by using ontologies and globally unique identifiers to weave together related data and services. Ontologies provide the vocabulary and semantics of the annotations. The representation of web-information is regulated by standardized syntax, common vocabularies, knowledge, and a logical language. Researchers throughout the world have been engaged to make the impact on the development and deployment of semantic web technologies. In this paper, we present a survey on the semantic search approaches.
