Abstract

These studies show that single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) can be effectively modified using phospholipids. Using a simple surface modification of SWNTs, followed by deposition of 1,2-bis(10,12-tricosadiynoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DCPE) phosphipid, results in stable water-dispersible SWNTs with highly uniform thickness. © 2005 American Chemical Society.
