Elon Law and A&T students spark conversation around copyright

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Elon Law Associate Dean Sue Liemer invited Associate Professor Roymieco Carter and students in an upper-level advertising course at North Carolina A&T State University for a joint class that explored the impact of intellectual property law on visual design. The Jan. 27, 2025, lecture aimed to bridge the gap between artistic expression and legal understanding. A series of professional cases and museum challenges were presented to highlight the complexities of copyright law within the art world for Elon Law students in Liemer’s “Art Law” course and A&T students in Carter’s “Advertising Design II” course.
