N2 - This article seeks to illuminate the significance of fostering equity-focused online environments for adult learners. First, we present the Let’s Get R.E.A.L. Model (Alston, 2016) as an appropriate framework to embrace diversity and demonstrate inclusive practices while engaging adult learners within online environments. Second, we present two vignettes that illustrate experiences with online learning and facilitation that focus on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lastly, we conclude by providing recommendations for applying the Let’s Get R.E.A.L. model to these vignettes and making connections to the BECOME theme for this special issue.
