Presented Leveraging LinkedIn at the 2022 NC PRIMA Conference, providing professional development focused on workforce readiness, professional networking, leadership development, personal branding, and the strategic use of digital platforms for career advancement. The session was designed to help human resource professionals, organizational leaders, educators, and emerging professionals maximize the value of LinkedIn as a tool for professional growth, recruitment, talent development, and organizational engagement.The presentation explored best practices for building an effective LinkedIn profile, establishing a professional online presence, communicating skills and accomplishments, and developing meaningful professional networks. Participants learned how to strategically engage with industry leaders, professional organizations, educational institutions, and community stakeholders to create opportunities for career advancement, collaboration, mentorship, and lifelong learning. The session emphasized the importance of intentional networking and relationship-building as key components of professional success in an increasingly digital and interconnected workforce.Particular attention was given to workforce development, talent acquisition, leadership visibility, and organizational branding. Discussions focused on how professionals and organizations can leverage digital platforms to attract talent, strengthen professional communities, share expertise, and promote innovation. Participants examined how LinkedIn can be used not only as a recruitment tool but also as a platform for leadership development, knowledge sharing, community engagement, and professional collaboration across industries and sectors.The presentation also highlighted the growing importance of digital literacy, communication skills, and professional adaptability in a rapidly changing workforce environment. Participants explored how technology and professional networking platforms can support economic mobility, career resilience, workforce readiness, and access to professional opportunities while fostering inclusive and equitable pathways to success.This presentation informs my teaching, research, and service by advancing my work in workforce development, leadership development, educational technology, digital literacy, organizational effectiveness, community engagement, and professional learning.
