Abstract
Presented LinkedIn with Intention: Crafting a Purpose-Driven Professional Presence at the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools Administrators of Color Conference. This professional development session focused on helping educational leaders, aspiring administrators, and educators strategically leverage LinkedIn and other digital platforms to build authentic professional networks, strengthen leadership visibility, and advance career opportunities through intentional personal branding and professional engagement.The presentation explored the evolving role of digital platforms in leadership development, workforce readiness, professional learning, and organizational advancement. Participants examined strategies for creating a compelling professional profile, communicating leadership experiences effectively, expanding professional networks, engaging with professional communities, and utilizing digital tools to support career growth, mentorship, and collaborative learning. The session emphasized the importance of aligning one’s online presence with personal values, leadership goals, and professional purpose.Particular attention was given to supporting diverse educational leaders and expanding access to professional opportunities through intentional networking, community building, and digital engagement. Discussions highlighted how professional platforms can serve as vehicles for educational advocacy, thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and career advancement while promoting equity, inclusion, and representation within leadership pipelines. Participants were encouraged to leverage technology to amplify their voices, strengthen professional relationships, and contribute meaningfully to educational and professional communities.The session also examined the relationship between leadership identity, digital literacy, communication, and workforce development in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven environment. Participants explored how emerging technologies and digital communication tools can support lifelong learning, professional growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness while fostering meaningful partnerships across educational sectors.This presentation informs my teaching, research, and service by advancing my work in leadership development, workforce readiness, educational technology, digital equity, professional learning, community engagement, and organizational leadership. The session reflects a commitment to preparing current and future leaders to navigate evolving professional landscapes, build purposeful networks, leverage technology responsibly, and create opportunities for personal, professional, and organizational growth.
