Abstract
Incorporating accounting education within entrepreneurship programs continues to invite discussion amongst both accounting and entrepreneurship faculty. The key issue surrounds the type and quantity of accounting education/skills entrepreneurs should have to be successful in their business. Other issues of import include the question of how that education should be transmitted and by whom. This study summarizes results of a survey that captures perceptions of academicians (accounting department chairs and entrepreneurship faculty) and those of directors of Small Business Development Centers (hereafter as SBDCs). Topics investigated include the types of educational programs that would meet the entrepreneur's business needs, content of the education, and who is best poised to offer such an education, etc. Results are varied across groups and are discussed.
