Abstract
This case study describes a project in planning an operation in the materials receiving department of a factory. Focus is on the practical difficulties of collecting relevant data and formulating the problem in a solvable form. The recommendation was to appoint two Central Receiving Operators and three Central Storeroom Operators. This decision was acceptable to management. 3 Refs.
