N2 - In this paper, we explore the utilization of point clouds to enhance the visual fidelity and realism of VR environments. A pipeline was successfully developed to take point cloud data, process it through optimization algorithms such as spatial subsampling, and then virtualize it in a VR environment with custom scripted interactivity. Also, a multitude of problems such as frames-per-second (FPS) optimization, nausea reduction, point cloud sparsity minimization and controller interactivity all need to be addressed before progress can be made.
