Abstract

A dimer acid was synthesized by Diels-Alder action using single oleic acid as raw material. Effects of different reaction conditions on composition and mechanism for Diels-Alder action of oleic acid were discussed. The result showed that the conversion of dimer acid was 71.7% under using the amount of organic montmorillonite as catalyst 9% (in term of mass of system), reaction temperature 260°C, reaction time 8h. It is to be a certain significance to improve the quality of dimer acid with oleic acid as raw material. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
