The maintenance of a MCC across Norhtern Africa: A case study and analysis realting to surface moisture variables an fluxes

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

The maintenance of the mesoscale convective complex (MCC) across Northern Africa in regards to the surface moisture variables, is discussed. The source of the vertical motion, which is split into orogrphically or environmentally is included. The moisture is funneled through the Turkana channel to the South of the Ethiopian Highlands (EH). IT is observed that as the system moves westward, the vertical motion and moisture becomes more influenced and sustained by synoptic situations.
