Abstract
This session explores the complex digital divide affecting Indigenous learners, examining not only access to devices and internet but also deeper issues of digital literacy, cultural relevance, and systemic inequity. Participants will gain insight into how geography, sovereignty, socioeconomic factors, and representation intersect to shape access and opportunity in digital learning environments. The session will highlight the educational, economic, and cultural impacts of digital exclusion, including barriers to STEM coursework, career pathways, and the transmission of Indigenous knowledge systems. Through interactive dialogue, polling, and shared experiences, participants will contribute to a broader research agenda focused on advancing digital equity for Indigenous communities. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of digital inequity and practical strategies to support culturally grounded, inclusive digital learning in their own contexts.
