Abstract

This chapter reflects the most recent updates from ACL Research Retreat V held in Greensboro, North Carolina, on March 25th–27th, 2010, a meeting involving over 75 clinicians and researchers from six countries. The consensus surrounding neuromuscular and biomechanical risk factors, anatomical and structural risk factors, hormonal risk factors, and risk factor screening and prevention is summarized relative to our current understanding and the questions that remain and drive future directions for research. Following these thematic sections, some global observations, themes, and recommendations that emerged from the meeting are presented.
