Abstract
Primary care physicians are often independently operated businesses. As such, customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty are key to operating a successful practice. This research tests the relative impact of a doctor’s clinical competence and empathy on patient satisfaction, patient loyalty, and the reputation of the practice.
