Abstract

Contrary to behavior seen for most rare earth substituted YBa2Cu3O7 compounds, the superconducting transition temperature for Y1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7 is depressed with increasing x, following closely the dependence predicted by Abrikosov-Gor'kov's pair breaking theory. The superconducting and normal state properties of (Y,Pr)Ba2Cu3O7 are compared to those obtained in other impurity studies. © 1988.
