Biography

Dr. Dhananjay Kumar is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University (NCAT). He also holds a joint faculty position with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He has developed a pulsed laser deposition-assisted synthesis method for self-assembly of nanophase materials. This method is generic in nature and has been applied to the self-assembly of magnetic, superconducting, optical, and super-hard nanomaterials. He is actively engaged in professional societies such as MRS, APS, and EMRS.
Dr. Kumar is the Director of two federally-funded multimillion centers at NCAT: DOE-EFRC Center for Electrochemical Dynamic and Reactions on Surfaces (CEDARS) and NSF-PREM Center for Collaborative Research and Education in Advanced Materials (CREAM), cream-ncat.org.
